This is an amendment to the previous notice announcing a Thistledown
production of Bye Bye Birdie for the summer season of the Sunshine Festival
Theatre Company in Orillia. The production will now be produced under the
ITA agreement and offer full equity contracts. Photos and resumes may be
sent as outlined in the notice or to the Sunshine Festival Theatre at:

BYE BYE BIRDIE

THISTLEDOWN PRODUCTIONS is auditioning for a summer production of BYE BYE
BIRDIE to run as part of the Sunshine Festival season at the Orillia Opera
House in June 2002



Audition Dates: February  18, 19, and 20

ROLES
Conrad Birdie - Baritone (low bA to high F )  age- 21 - 30  Handsome,
Elvis-like rock star teen idol
Rosie Alvarez - Alto (low #E to bB ) age-26 - 35 Frustrated overworked,
secretary, in love with Albert
Kim MacAfee - Mezzo (low G to high bA ) age- 14-22 Fifteen-year-old girl
from a small town is chosen to kiss Conrad Birdie before he leaves for the
military. Unfortunately, she also has to deal with her jealous boyfriend,
Hugo Peabody.
Alberto Peterson - Baritone (low E to bE ) age- 28 - 37 The company
President of the Almaelou Music Corporation. He is desperate because the
company's star, Conrad Birdie, is about to be drafted. He is also in love
with his secretary, Rosie but fearful of his mother, who hates her.
Mr. MacAfee - Baritone (#G to high F ) age- 40 - 50 Kim's grumpy father who
is frustrated with the younger generation but worships Ed Sullivan
Mrs. MacAfee - Mezzo (low C to bE ) age- 40 - 50 Mr. MacAfee's supportive
wife.
Mae Peterson -age  50-70 Albert's mother who has almost complete control
over her son.
Hugo Peabody -age  14-22 Kim's dorky, jealous boyfriend.
Assorted teenagers and adults -singing, dancing required

Production Dates
Rehearsal to Begin:  May 20
Show opens June 8 Closes June 22

Actors prepare 1 comic monologue no longer than 2 minutes Singers prepare 1
uptempo show tune
Dancers will be invited to a dance call

Deadline for submissions is February13th
