Over The River and Through the Woods
 by Joe DiPietro     directed by Jordan Merkur

Nick is an Italian American single guy from New Jersey whose parents have
retired and moved to Florida. Every Sunday he visits both sets of his
grandparents for dinner. One night, he announces that he's been offered a
dream job that would take him away from his beloved yet annoying
grandparents.  Thus begins a series of events as Nick's grandparents scheme
to get him to stay. This international hit play is a warm, funny and
ultimately moving comedy about family, loyalty and letting go.

Rehearsals:  begin May 30th.  We will be rehearsing in Toronto
Performances:  June 18 - July 6.   Performances Tuesday through Saturday.

Casting Requirements:
Nick Cristano: (early 30's), marketing executive, charming, funny, sarcastic
at times, urban and a bit high strung. He is ambitious and driven and has a
temper.

Frank Gianelli:  (80), born in Italy and still speaks with an Italian
accent, a carpenter. He's practical, stubborn, reminisces about his father's
struggles, won't stop driving despite frequent mini accidents. Plays the
mandolin briefly during the play.

Aida Gianelli: (70's), born in New Jersey, never finished grade school or
learned to drive. She's a wonderful cook and is constantly feeding everyone.
She's sweet, nurturing, accommodating, caring and very devoted to her
family.

Nunzio Cristano: (70's), born in New Jersey, worked on an assembly line.
Loud, can be aggressive and pushy, travels with his wife, though he claims
he doesn't like to. A romantic at heart.  He's recently been told that he
only has a few months to live.

Emma Cristano:  (70's), a bit bossy and speaks her mind.  She loves to
travel and have fun and calls herself "a doer". He's a schemer, very
persistent and also religious.

Caitlin  O'Hare: (late 20's), Irish American, born in New Jersey.
Attractive, sensitive, funny, caring, good natured and charming.  She's a
nurse and a vegetarian.

Audition Requirements:
Sides will be provided from the script in advance.

The Foursome
By Norm Foster    Directed by Jordan Merkur

Four business school chums, the morning after their 15 year reunion, hook up
for a round of golf and share their success and failures.  Set entirely on
the eighteen tees of a golf course, this is Norm Foster at his very best and
demonstrates his mastery of comedy.

Rehearsals:  begin July 22, 2002. We will be rehearsing in Toronto.
Performances:  August 7th to August 24th.  Performances - Tuesday to
Saturday

Casting Requirements:
Rick:  (37) single, lives in Florida selling boats.  An excellent golfer.
Sarcastic, acerbic, and sees himself a super stud.  A schemer and very
competitive.  He reveals that he now wants to marry his college girlfriend,
but she refuses to see him as "the marrying kind."

Donnie: (37) a devoted husband and father of five children. He lives in a
small town and runs a hardware store.  He's never golfed before. Klutzy,
often awkward and the butt of other people's jokes.  He has a big heart and
is very likeable.

Ted:  (37)  He works in the computer business, which he hates.  He is
married to a woman 13 years younger.  He is uptight. He reveals that he is
becoming a Buddhist to satisfy his young wife's new interest.  He drinks too
much, just like his father.

Cameron:  (37) Sells advertising for television.. He's been married for 13
years and has one 11 year old son who loves figure skating.  His sex life is
boring, so he gets vicarious pleasure hearing about the exploits of others.
He's a hypochondriac and a worry-wort.

Audition Requirements:
1. Prepare one comic monologue 3 minutes or less - this is recommended but
optional.
2. Sides from the script will be provided in advance.

Audition Dates:
January - Thursday the 24th, Friday the 25th, Saturday the 26th, Tuesday the
29th
Call Backs:  February - Monday the 4th, Tuesday the 5th.

Audition Location:
Tarragon Theatre, 30 Bridgman Ave. 2 blocks east of Bathurst, 1 block north
of Dupont
