THEATRE CALGARY MUSICAL AUDITIONS

Theatre Calgary's Musical Auditions will take place Monday, April 15th and
Tuesday, April 16th, 2002 in Calgary.

The name of the musical has not been announced yet.  The annoucement will
take place on March 27th, and will be on our website
(www.theatrecalgary.com) on the 27th at 8:00pm MST.

The auditions will be individual auditions followed by dance calls.

REQUIREMENTS:
- All types of voices are required, but all women must be able to sing to a
top G.  A "pop-rock" piece that showcases the singer's range is recommended
but not required. Legit with a "rock-edge" is acceptable as well. A piano
accompanist will be provided. Tim French will be the
Director/Choreographer, and Stephen Woodjetts will be the Musical Director.

All women must sing to a top G.
- Female: character age range 20 - 35. Height 5' 2" - 5' 8".  Dynamic
actor/singer.
Movement/dance ability a plus.  Voice must have no strong break between
lower and upper register.
- Female: character age range 16-25. Singer/Actor.  Youthful vocal quality.
Even mix
from lower to upper range (no strong break).  Open colour casting.

All men must sing to a G (mandatory), and a B flat (optional)
- Male: character age range 30-45. Height 5' 7'' and up.  Baritone.  Strong,
dramatic
singer/actor.
- Male: character age range 25-35. Dynamic singer/actor.  High Baritone or
tenor.
Pop/rock quality. Diverse casting.
- Male: character age range 25-35. High baritone singer/actor.  Nightclub
singer.
Diverse casting.

- Adult Ensemble of 19: Strong singer/actor/dancers.  All vocal ranges.
Dancers must have good singing voices. Diverse casting. Some ensemble
will understudy leads. Character age range 20-50.

- Child Ensemble of 3: Character age range 9-12.  Good singers.  Young
sopranos or boy
sopranos.

Deadline for submissions is April the 5th.  Artists will be contacted about
their audition time, please do not call our office.  Please send your

Theatre Calgary is a member of the Professional Association of Canadian
Theatres, and operates within the jurisdiction of the Canadian Theatre
Agreement.  Artists who are members of the Canadian Actors Equity
Association will be given audition priority.  Non-Equity artists will be
seen if spaces are available.
