Extended Deadlines! Don't miss the opportunity to study with Mark Wilson!

Scene Study with Mark Wilson

How do actors compellingly unlock the heart of a scene, and truly reveal
themselves in the process? Once you've done the homework, what can you do on
your feet on set or on stage? Technique is what actors turn to when
inspiration fails. The tools of the craft enable actors to problem-solve on
their own, extend their range, and sustain a career. In this practical
course, you will learn how to generate present tense on demand through the
implementation of intentions, action verbs, obstacles, icons, primary
relationships, and states-of-being. The participants will all work on
two-handed scenes from the same play, exploring the successive phases of
analysis, rehearsal, and performance. Much outside rehearsal time with your
scene partner is essential in this four-week course. Whether you have
completed Essential Acting Technique (Script Analysis) or not, you will find
this class the perfect opportunity to exercise your performance muscles.

Class #964 June 3 - June 27, 2002.
Mondays and Thursdays 2:00 - 5:00 pm

Cost for CAEA is $200 and Non-CAEA is $220
Application with photo, résumé & payment by May 27th. **Extended!!

Essential Acting Technique (Script Analysis) with Mark Wilson

What do actors prepare when doing their homework before stepping onto the
set or the rehearsal floor? This course will teach you the basic tools of
script analysis to generate compelling acting, whether your focus is camera
work or theatre. Selected scenes and monologues will be creatively dissected
in four, three-hour group table-talk sessions. You will discover how to
break down a script to determine what there is to play, and how to isolate
intentions, action verbs, obstacles, icons, primary relationships, and
states-of-being. Great acting means specifically articulating what you are
doing in a scene. This course offers you the vocabulary for a confident
approach to your next role or your upcoming audition, and is highly
recommended for those who wish to be considered for placement in on-camera
classes with Bruce Clayton or David Rotenberg.
