An invitation from Gayle Murphy and Jane Heyman to attend a first
Vancouver gathering for members and friends of the Association of
Professional Theatre Trainers and Teachers (APTTT) on Saturday, November
22 from 12 noon to 3.00 p.m. at the Buchanan Penthouse, Buchanan B
Building, 1866 Main Mall, University of British Columbia.

Bring your lunch -- UBC will supply coffee, tea and something to munch
on.

As this is our first local gathering, we'd like to create lots of
opportunity to discuss topics which interest you. Feel free to include
your wish-list of discussion topic suggestions when you RSVP.

APTTT is a new-ish National organization which began two years ago at
the 2nd Canadian Theatre Conference in Ottawa.

Our goals are to maximize support and communication between those of us
who are involved in professional theatre training.

Lively local meetings were held earlier this year in Toronto and Ottawa.
We hope that this gathering in Vancouver will be the first of many
provocative, energizing sessions in Vancouver.

PLEASE RSVP TO JANE: jheyman at langara.bc.ca -- so that we can make sure
to have sufficient refreshments on hand

SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 29th, 2003 10 am - 2 pm

Equity Showcase Theatre, 651 Dufferin St., Toronto

his own company Mungioli Theatricals, Inc. Arnold's casting credits

Brothers' The Hudsucker Proxy, The Cosby Show, and A Different World,
among others. Current Casting Projects include DISNEY's The Lion King

information about Arnold Mungioli, please visit
www.mungiolitheatricals.com.)

This workshop is designed to improve upon the actor's audition skills
and help the actor navigate through an ever-changing industry. The goal
of the workshop is to open each actor up to a clearer understanding of
what they present when they come into an audition, and learn more about
how they are viewed. Actors will begin to look at the subconscious fears
that may be holding them back from where they would like to be, and talk
about ways to replace those fears with courageous choices, emphasizing
all the good they have to offer. Self-Awareness will be emphasized.

All actors are asked to prepare a brief monologue (2 minutes or less) as
a sample of their work. Not every actor will perform his or her
monologue, as some will be given material as a cold reading instead.
Through the process of working and observing one another, actors will
learn better what works, what to do, and what not to do in order to
increase their chances of booking the job. The overall focus of working
on material in this workshop is to strengthen choices the actors have
made and build upon their instincts, making the stakes higher and
increasing confidence so that future auditions are more effective.
