MARKETING AND COMMUNICATIONS CO-ORDINATOR
------------------------------------------ 

Native Earth Performing Arts is searching for a Marketing and
Development Coordinator to begin October 2003 and continue on a
permanent, flexible part-time basis.  

The successful candidate will possess a professional, outgoing and
personable disposition; excellent communications skills and a passion
for theatre.  Previous fundraising experience in the not-for profit
sector is an asset, as well as above average computer and time
management skills.  Native Earth encourages applications from fresh and
energetic individuals who are just emerging as theatre professionals.  

Native Earth Performing Arts is Canada's premiere national theatre
company dedicated to creating, developing and producing professional
artistic expression of the Canadian Aboriginal experience.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES

-Formulate and implement strategies for audience development and
campaign to increase audience attendance at company productions, from
the Native community specifically as well as from the entire GTA. 
-Create and implement a campaign to increase membership in Native Earth
Performing Arts Inc. 
-Create, implement and organize long and short term fundraising
strategies for special ventures and events 
-Target, strategize, implement and manage fundraising campaigns aimed at
corporations and foundations who fund the performing arts, building
towards on-going relationships and funding support 
-Develop sponsorship and promotional initiatives with existing and
potential sponsors 
-Liaison with the theatre community and the Native community re:
speaking requests, shared resources, information sharing
 
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Training and/or experience in marketing, development and fundraising for
the arts is desired, and in-depth knowledge of the Native community in
Toronto as well as the Toronto Theatre scene.
