1. BEGINNER MEISNER TECHNIQUE - VANCOUVER
----------------------------------------------------------------
'Beginner Meisner Technique'
with Gillian Stevens-Guille
Six weeks
Two classes per week

Are you searching for a process which inspires you? Which gets you out
of your head and connected with your impulses? Which is raw and
exciting and specific? And which works?

Re-train your instincts, experience moment-to-moment contact with other
actors and connect to your own truthful human behaviour.

What is repetition? Why repeat?
Repetition is an acting exercise developed by Sanford Meisner at the
Neighbourhood Playhouse School of the Theatre in New York City. It is
the foundation and first element of Meisner's acting technique.
Repetition is a simple and direct way for an actor to connect to his or
her truthful behaviour. Listening, answering and revealing truthful,
moment-to-moment behaviour is the goal.

Before the first class, it is recommended that actors read the book
Sanford Meisner on Acting by Sanford Meisner and Dennis Longwell.(New
York: Random House, 1987).
