AUDITIONS - HALIFAX
-----------------------------
The Ship's Company Theatre will be holding auditions in Halifax on March
28 for a number of roles in its 2004 season.

The Parrsboro Boxing Club, written and directed by Scott Burke, is a
coming of age story of Duff Martin set against the town of Parrsboro in
the 1950's which spans 10 years in the characters lives. There is no
script available but interested parties are welcome to peruse the novel
by Bruce Graham.

Characters are:

Mrs. Martin - from age 35-45 - loves literature, hates the violence of
boxing

Heather - from age 17-25 - Duff Martin's high school sweetheart, later
his wife, doesn't want Duff to box and has a grave fear of the water in
a town that exists around fishing and sailing

Curly - 40ish - awkward, perhaps not too bright, still lives with his
mother, is the constant companion of the elder Mr. Martin, both in life
and at the boxing club, which is the centre of his world

Duff, Danny and Mouse- from ages 17 to 25- childhood friends who share
the love of boxing, girls, dreams of the future. They truly grow up over
the course of the play
