Get Front Orchestra Tickets to Urinetown for $10!
You Gotta Go!

Starting with the first preview on Wednesday, May 19th CanStage is
offering front orchestra tickets to URINETOWN: The Musical for $10 each.
Beginning at 10:00 a.m. on the day of each performance, tickets can be
purchased in person only for that day's performance at the CanStage Box
Office (27 Front Street East). A limited number of seats are available
for each show in the run.

The Canadian premiere of URINETOWN: The Musical, produced by CanStage
and Dancap Private Equity Inc., and directed by John Rando (2002 Tony
Award for Best Direction), begins previews on May 19th at Toronto's
Bluma Appel Theatre and opens on May 27th and runs through to July 11th,
2004.

A spirited send-up of musicals and their conventions, URINETOWN was a
smash hit on Broadway, winning three Tony Awards, playing to rave
reviews and packed houses for three years, and is currently on a
national tour across the United States. Set in a Gotham-like City
overwrought by ecological disaster, URINETOWN is essentially the story
of two kids who fall in love in a city in the middle of a water
shortage. A depletion of the earth's water supply has led to a
government-enforced ban on private toilets. The privilege to pee is
regulated by a single, malevolent corporation, which profits by charging
for one of mankind's most basic needs.

The Canadian cast of URINETOWN: The Musical includes Charles Azulay
(Billy Boy Bill/Business Man #2), Greg Barry (Swing), Rod Campbell
(Senator Fipp), Michael Coady (Robbie The Stockfish/Business Man #1),
Sheldon Davis (Officer Barrel), Steven Gallagher (Mr. McQueen), David
Keeley (Officer Lockstock), Cara Leslie (Hope Cladwell), Lee MacDougall
(Old Man Strong/Hot Blades Harry), Nicholas Matthew (Swing), Mary Ann
McDonald (Penelope Pennywise), Frank Moore (Caldwell B. Cladwell),
Stephen Patterson (Bobby Strong), Kevin Power (Tiny Tom/Dr. Billeaux),
Sophie Schottlander (Soupy Sue/Cladwell's Secretary), Colleen Tillotson
(Old Woman/Josephine Strong), Regan Thiel (Swing), and Jennifer Waiser
(Little Sally), and Patricia Zentilli (Little Becky Two Shoes/ Mrs.
Millennium).

URINETOWN: The Musical is the brainchild of Greg Kotis (Book and Lyrics)
and Mark Hollmann (Music and Lyrics). Musical Staging is by John
Carrafa; Scenic Design is by Scott Pask; Costume Design by Gregory Gale
and Jonathan Bixby; and Lighting Design is by Brian MacDevitt. The
Fight Director is Rick Sordelet, the Orchestrator is Bruce Coughlin; and
Musical Direction is by Stephen Woodjetts. Maria Popoff is the Stage
Manager, and the Assistant Stage Managers are Stephanie Marrs and Robert
Harding.
