The 5th Annual Making a Scene Conference, presented by the Greater
Vancouver Professional Theatre Alliance, will be held on May 27 - 29.
This professional development opportunity is where all sectors of the
theatre community come together; from administrators and actors to
technicians and service staff, to collaborate, learn, inspire, connect,
and have fun.

"With 25 sessions and over 90 speakers, Making a Scene is on the scale
of a major, national conference.  The GVPTA is delighted to be the
catalyst that brings together this wealth of talent in an outstanding
professional development and networking opportunity," states Susan
Stevenson, Executive Director, GVPTA.

The keynote speaker is Max Wyman, one of Canada's leading cultural
commentators and a former Vancouver Sun Arts and Culture writer. Wyman,
will be available for signing of his new book, The Defiant Imagination:
Why Culture Matters, following his address. 

Some of the panellists participating in the workshops include: Carmen
Aguirre, Susan Bertoia, Camyar Chai, Denise Clarke, John Cooper, Jay
Dodge, Lorena Gale, Dean Paul Gibson, Steven Hill, Terence Kelly, DD
Kugler, Andrew Laurenson, Glynnis Leyshon James Long, Duncan Low,
Patrick McDonald, Bill Millerd, Judi Pigott, David Ross, Mina Shum,
Denis Simpson, Wayne Specht, Del Surjik, Burke Taylor, Maiko Bae
Yamamoto and many more.  The closing party features live music by
Susanna Sommers

A WORKSHOP WITH DENISE CLARKE - 
Thursday, May 27th 10 - 2pm at Carousel Theatre
Professional development workshop for writer/performers .		

Denise Clarke, founding member of Calgary's One Yellow Rabbit, is a
powerful performer and a dynamic and inspiring teacher.  Her work as a
solo artist and as part of the One Yellow Rabbit ensemble is highly
acclaimed and a workshop with her should not be missed.
Must register separately for this workshop. 
Cost - $50 with MAS registration, $125 for workshop alone.
