DRAMA DEPARTMENT: 

The Drama Department at the University of Saskatchewan invites
applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant
Professor in Acting and Directing.  The successful candidate will be on
the leading edge of directorial theory and practice in North America and
will have expertise and knowledge in a broad range of theatrical forms
and styles.  Skill in theatre design (costume, set, and/or lighting) is
highly desirable.  Preference will be given to candidates who have a
strong record of professional directorial experience and of teaching at
the university level.  An MFA or a PhD or its equivalent in creative
achievement, teaching and professional theatre experience is required.
The successful candidate will be capable of teaching a full range of
undergraduate acting and directing classes and will be expected to
direct major and workshop productions.  S/he will have the opportunity
to teach graduate courses, participate in graduate supervision and
contribute to the University's efforts to create new international
programs.

The deadline for applications is January 31, 2005 and the hiring takes
effect on July 1, 2005.  Screening of applications will begin February 1
