GREAT CANADIAN LATE-NIGHT SERIES 2005

A Showcase of New One-Act Plays from Ottawa Artists, Scheduled to
coincide with the Magnetic North Theatre Festival's Magnetic Ottawa

The Great Canadian Theatre Company and Artistic Director Lorne Pardy
invite playwrights, directors and producers from the Ottawa area to
submit a new one-act play to be developed, produced and performed as
part of the Great Canadian Late-Night Series 2005. The Late-Night Series
is designed to showcase productions of new work by Ottawa artists to
producers and presenters from across Canada during the Magnetic North
Theatre Festival's Magnetic Ottawa Series. We are looking to showcase
independent productions by local artists by offering them a venue and
technical support to present their work.

The Great Canadian Late-Night Series will take place in Ottawa in June
2005. It is timed to coincide with the Magnetic North Theatre Festival,
which runs from June 8-18, 2005.

The successful applicants will be juried by GCTC Artistic Director,
Lorne Pardy in consultation with a reading committee. Selected plays
will receive dramaturgical support from GCTC as well as technical and
production assistance leading up to the showcase performance of their
work. Applicants will be judged on the strength of their idea,
innovation and proven ability in the areas of playwriting, directing and
producing. Collective creations will be considered by submitting a
fully formed treatment outline of the new work. Selected applicants
will receive an honoraria from the GCTC made possible by a grant from
the Laidlaw Foundation.

Ottawa playwrights, directors and producers are invited to submit their
script, along with a cover letter outlining their process of
development, plans for production, and resumes/bios, to:
