E-DRIVE- JOB - THEATRE POSITION - UNIVERSITY OF OTTAWA
------------------------------------------------------------------------
-------
The University of Ottawa invites applications from both theatre artists
and scholars for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor
level to commence July 1st, 2005.
The University of Ottawa is located in the heart of the National Capital
which is home to a wealth of national research and artistic institutions
and is ideally situated between Montreal and Toronto.
The Department of Theatre is a rapidly growing department with an
exciting, new MFA in Directing. The current undergraduate programs,
which balance practice, history and theory, include both a 3 year
Concentration and a 4 year Honours in Theatre, as well as a 3 year
Concentration in Arts Administration. With the exception of the
Concentration in Theatre, the programs require active bilingualism on
the part of both the students and the professors.
The successful candidate will therefore be able to function in a
bilingual environment, contribute to the new MFA in Directing and teach
undergraduate courses in at least two of the following areas: theatre
practice, history of theatre and/or theatre theory.

Qualifications: a terminal degree in Theatre, or the equivalent and
significant evidence of ability and experience in the teaching and
practice of theatre.
Salary to be negotiated in accordance with the Collective Agreement.

The deadline for receipt of applications is February 22nd, 2005.
Applicants should send a detailed curriculum vitae and arrange for three
letters of reference to be sent directly to the Chairperson, Department
of Theatre, University of Ottawa, 135 Seraphin Marion, Ottawa, Ontario,
K1N 6N5.
Equity is a University policy. All qualified candidates are encouraged
to apply; however, Canadians and permanent residents will be given
priority.
