AUDITIONS - TORONTO
------------------------------
Native Earth Performing Arts: General auditions

For actors who have not had the opportunity to audition for Artistic
Director, Yvette Nolan. Also casting two specific roles in the play
Dreary and Izzy by T. Beagan, director Ruth Madoc-Jones.

The contract for Dreary and Izzy will include four weeks rehearsal and a
three week run at Factory Studio early in winter 2005.

The story of the Monoghan sisters, both affected by Isabelle's Fetal
Alcohol Spectrum Disorder. Deirdre becomes her adopted sister Isabelle's
sole caregiver after an accident claims the lives of their parents. She
finds herself challenged by the strain of keeping Izzy out of trouble,
and quickly welcomes a distraction in the form of gorgeous door to door
vacuum salesman, Freddie Seven Horses.

Isabelle: Female, late twenties, First Nations. Slender build, (must be
carried by "Deirdre" in one scene) energetic, temperament of an eight
year old due to fetal alcohol spectrum disorder. Isabelle seems
childlike, but her sexual instincts are that of a woman in her twenties.

Deirdre: Female, late twenties, Caucasian. Attractive, emotionally and
physically strong (to carry "Isabelle") and lacking in subtler social
graces. A somewhat sheltered woman who has largely sacrificed her own
social life in the name of her sister's well being.

Auditions on May 2 and 3, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.: actors selected for
auditions must send a current photo and resume before scheduled
appointment,
e-mail or post.
