MEISNER ACTING TECHNIQUE
with JOHN RIVEN

Sanford Meisner was co-founder of the Group Theatre which took
Stanislavsky's original theories and principles and introduced "Method"
acting to America. Meisner's own philosophy is based on the creation of

real and truthful behaviour under imaginary circumstances. The work
focuses
on helping students get out of their heads and back into trusting their
gut
instincts.

John Riven is a graduate of the Neighborhood Playhouse where he studied
under Sanford Meisner and Richard Pinter. He is a founding member of
the
Shadowfax Theatre Company, which produced original plays in NYC during
the
80s.

John has been teaching the Meisner Technique in Toronto and New York for

over 8 years.

A new 6 week session will begin on Thursday nights January 13th to the
February 17th. Classes are held at Central Studios, 680 Yonge St. 2nd
fl.
The cost is $225 for union members and $295 for non-union. For more
