1.HERE BE MONSTERS II - VANCOUVER

The workshop is produced in co-operation with 'Unexpected Productions'
in 
Seattle and Ryan Stiles' 'Upfront Theatre' in Bellingham, which will
host a 
wrap up weekend of shows directed by Keith Johnstone, and featuring any
of 
the workshop participants available to travel down. A small bursary can
be 
applied for at the end of the Vancouver Workshop to cover some of the
cost.

These professional classes are specifically designed to augment actors'
abilities and challenge their preconceptions by providing them with
series of exercises and strategies to make them more relaxed, confident
and present in the work. By learning how to absorb the text as a series
of images and events, and by discovering how to release the fear that
surrounds the retention of the text, the actor is freed to place his or
her concentration and awareness on the components of the given
circumstances: the other actors, the environment, and their own interior
landscape.

BIOGRAPHY: SCOTT SWAN has been a theatre director and teacher for over
thirty years and has won numerous awards for his work. He was the
Founding Artistic Director of Northern Light theatre in Edmonton and the
Artistic Director of Festival Lennoxville in Quebec. He has directed at
most of the major regional theatres in Canada including The National
Arts Centre, the Shaw Festival, the Vancouver Playhouse, and Bard on the
Beach. He also has been asked to direct at Stratford and has had two
shows optioned for Broadway. He has served as a National Radio Drama
Producer for C.B.C. acted in a number of plays films, and television
productions and written for the stage and television.

3.IMPROVISATION - TORONTO
---------------------------------------
Toronto's Bad Dog Theatre is pleased to announce its new round of 
improvisation classes starting in January 2005. Offered through the Bad
Dog Training Centre, these classes are taught by Canada's top improv
teachers and performers including several Canadian Comedy Award Winners
and Nominees.

Formerly known as Theatresports Toronto, the Bad Dog Theatre has been 
teaching and performing improv in Toronto for over 20 years. We are a
proud member of the Toronto Association of Acting Studios (TAAS).

Registration is open at the Bad Dog Training Centre. You can register
now for the classes below.

Courses are 8 weeks and 2.5 hours in length unless otherwise noted.

All classes are $170 CDN unless otherwise noted.
Repeat Level Cost is $85 CDN.

playwriting workshop with Frank Moher
find your character's voice; create conflict; what is a scene; dialogue;
write visually; structure; rhythm;

February 12 and 13 at Artspring. 
 
About the Playwright: Frank Moher's plays have been produced in Canada,
the U.S.A , New Zealand and Japan.  He has taught at the University of
B.C. and the University of Alberta, and is currently teaching Dramatic
Writing at Malaspina University College.
