JOB - APPRENTICE STAGE MANAGER - CHEMAINUS

The Chemainus Theatre Festival is accepting applications for the position of Apprentice Stage Manager for their 2005-2006 Young Company Apprenticeship program.
Apprenticeship dates:  early May 2005 through June 2006.
Application deadline: April 15, 2005
The Young Company Apprenticeship program is designed for individuals with formal, post-secondary theatre training who desire an intermediate step to help bridge the gap into a career in professional theatre. The program's purpose is to provide a rich, intensive residency of experience working in a professional theatre environment with a variety of seasoned professional artists.  

Primary components of the position:

§	Assistant Stage Manager duties under the direction of our resident and guest Stage Managers on 4 to 6 mainstage productions.
§	Stage Manager for 1 or 2 Young Company productions

Qualifications:  Intention to become a professional Stage Manager.  The successful applicant must possess strong organizational and people skills, a good knowledge of rehearsal procedures and protocol, and be resourceful in the handling of emergency situations. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual with an attitude for life-long learning.
