JOB - THEATRE TECHNICIAN - ORANGEVILLE

Theatre Technician, Theatre Orangeville (including Carpentry, Lights and
Sound)

Time Period: (approximate dates)
Aug 28 - Nov 28 (possibly running Christmas show in December if needed)
Jan 16 - Feb 17th 
Mar 20 - April 21 with possible extensions depending on incoming builds
and carp. skills.

Duties:
Assist the technical director in all manner of production including some
of the following but not limited to: Set carpentry Hanging and focusing
lights Sound recording and effects, sourcing, manipulation and transfer
to appropriate medium Running Theatre Orangeville Shows Running shows
for user groups, and phoning said user groups for technical information
Opening and closing the theatre building when it is needed Basic scenic
painting (base-coating and flat colours) Some props sourcing and
building Loading sets in and out of Theatre building and setting them up

Clean up and general maintenance of theatre and shop
(More specific tasks will be assigned depending on the skills and
interests of the candidate)

The candidate should have training in technical theatre or equivalent
experience, and at least one season of work experience. Please supply
references.

The candidate should work well alone and with other people, and maintain
a polite and positive attitude even in the face of adversity. He or she
may be expected to do some training with volunteers or less experienced
staff members. 

The candidate should own steel toe boots, be prepared to wear them
daily, and other wise maintain a safe working environment. She or he
must also be comfortable on a ladder and able to do heavy lifting.
