JOB - MAINSPACE TECHNICIAN - TORONTO

Tarragon Theatre invites applications for the position of Mainspace
Technician. This is a seasonal position from late August to late May (5
productions, each running for 6 weeks, in a 205-seat house). Dependent
on rental demands, additional work may be available during the summer
months.

The successful candidate will be responsible, but not limited to the
following:
Hang and focus of lighting equipment
Supervision of Lighting and Sound Crews
Running of Lighting and sound for all five productions
Maintenance of lighting and sound equipment
Maintenance of the Mainspace

Qualifications Include:
Knowledge of lighting control and dimming systems, as well as other
lighting technologies
Knowledge of: Sound playback systems, recording, and sound reinforcement
technology.
University or college accreditation with a Theatre Production major, or
equivalent practical experience.
Proficiency with personal computers and basic software applications.
Experience supervising lighting and sound setup crews
A self motivator interested in bringing ideas to Management on how to
organize, maximize and optimize one of Toronto's busiest theatre space.

Interviews will be conducted August 15 - 19, with the successful
candidate starting on or about September 3rd, 2005.
