AUDITION - NORTH BAY
-------------------------------
Nipissing Stage Company, North Bay's professional summer theatre, now
going into its 6th season, is holding auditions for the following roles
in its 2005 season.

THE TEMPEST
Adapted and directed by Rod Carley
Starring David Fox as Prospero

MIRANDA  - daughter of Prospero.  Young and attractive at the tender age
of 15.  Independent of mind, inquisitive and impetuous.  Experiences
falling in love for the first time with Ferdinand.

FERDINAND - the much-loved son of Alonso the King.  Shipwrecked, he
arrives on shore first, falling instantly in love with Miranda.  A
gallant youth who has experienced the ways of the world. 

STEPHANO - a drunken butler, he attempts to kill Prospero and take the
island for his own.
A low-life bully prompted on by liquor. 

TRINCULO - A  jester and both "friend"  and "whipping boy" to Stephano.


SEBASTIAN  - The brother of Alonso the King.  He plots to kill his
brother and take his title with the scheming Antonio.  

(Length of Engagement - July 12 to August 7 with possible extension
until August 14)

Please prepare a Shakespearean monologue plus readings from the script

NUNSENSE

SISTER MARY REGINA, MOTHER SUPERIOR -  a feisty overweight Sophie
Tucker-type who can't resist the spotlight 

SISTER MARY HUBERT - The second in command, she is always competing with
the Mother Superior.

SISTER MARY LEO (non-Equity apprentice) - The novice, who has entered
the convent with the firm desire to become the first nun ballerina.

Please prepare one song from the show.  Plus readings. An accompanist
will be provided.  

(Length of Engagement: - May 24 to June 25)

SALT-WATER MOON

Directed by Al MacAskill

MARY SNOW - a fierce and proud teenager with a "steel in her heart" that
masks her deep sensitivity and vulnerability.  Newfoundland accent
required.

JACOB MERCER - a charming 18 year old lad who has returned from Toronto
to win back Mary, his former sweetheart.  His humour masks his fear.
Newfoundland accent required. 

Please prepare one Canadian contemporary monologue plus readings.

(Length of Engagement - June 28 to July 23)

Auditions are scheduled for Fri. Apr. 8 and Sat. Apr. 9 at Equity
Showcase.
