3. FIGHT NIGHT - TORONTO

Fight Night- Toronto

Fight Night Productions is thrilled to announce the second annual Fight
Night! After last year's successful run, the show returns with even
more original and published theatre,
from slapstick comedy to violent drama and from medieval battlefield to
modern locales. In Fight Night 2005, some of Toronto's finest directors
and fight choreographers team up with talented actors to showcase all
that skilled stage combat can bring to a production. It's a truly
unique opportunity for audiences to see the best of the industry in
action.
Seven directors, eleven fight directors, and a cast of thirty three will
stage twelve scenes for the show's three performances. The plays have
been selected to demonstrate a variety of different fighting styles and
weapons, and cover an immense range of period and subject matter.

Heroes and villains do battle with broadswords and shields in
Shakespeare's Henry VI Part 1 and an all-female Macbeth, while the Three
Musketeers keep their enemies at bay with rapiers in scenes from the new
play Lady DeWinter. A Streetcar Named Desire demonstrates a violent and
desperate form of unarmed combat, while the weapons in the Smacks in the
City are whatever comes to hand- martini glasses, camera equipment, and
even perfume bottles.

Fight Night 2005 runs May 26, 27, and 28 at 8:00 PM at the intimate
George Brown Theatre, 530 King Street East. Tickets are $15 for general
admission or $12 for students, Equity members, and members of Fight
Directors Canada. This one-of-a-kind show will sell fast, so call
416.537.5306 or email tickets at fightnight.ca to reserve your tickets and
get in on the action!
