JOB - GENERAL MANAGER - JACKSON'S POINT ON

The Red Barn Theatre in Jackson's Point, Ontario, a project of The Lake
Simcoe Arts Foundation, is seeking applications to fill its position of
General Manager.

Approaching its 60th season in 2008, The Red Barn Theatre is Canada's
Longest Running Professional Theatre. 

This senior staff position reports to the Board of Directors. The
General Manager is responsible for fiscal management, fundraising, and
reporting for the organization as well as maintaining proper accounting
procedures. The right individual will have a passion for the theatre,
excellent written and oral communication skills, a background in arts
administration and management (preferably in the theatre), problem
solving skills, and the ability to work both independently and with a
team.

Primary Duties:

Establishes, maintains, and oversees the implementation of operating
procedures, and systems of control for all financial transactions.

Business leadership to The Red Barn Theatre and the Community of
Georgina.

Will be instrumental in fundraising activities.

Actively seeking potential corporate sponsors and donors.

Responsible for grant writing planning and execution. 

Responsible for hiring and supervising box office and summer staff.

Responsible for volunteer recruitment and recognition.

Responsible for budgeting for all aspects of The Red Barn Theatre. 

Responsible for the execution of the annual budget, providing assistance
to all departments on budgetary review and analysis.

Responsible for the creation of cash flow projections and budgetary
forecasts.

Oversees Deposits and Payroll, Operations, and Box Office departments.

Oversees Marketing, Public Relations, and Promotion of The Red Barn
Theatre. 

Upholds the integrity, vision, and values of The Red Barn Theatre. 

Serves as the Systems Administrator for computer and phone networks and
maintains records of all general operating/systems contracts.

Serves as liaison with all professional associations.

Qualifications:

College degree or equivalent and three-five years of theatre management
experience, including non-profit bookkeeping, accounting and audit,
payroll, computerized ticketing, and budgeting are essential in a
qualified candidate. Experience in managing employees and organizing
plans, systems and projects is also required. Needed skills and
proficiencies include time management, communication and people skills,
organizational skills, marketing experience, computer knowledge
including proficiency in MS word, excel, etc. Artistic ability and the
ability to manage a variety of projects and activities on a daily basis
is essential. 

This is a full-time position. Compensation will be negotiated and based
on performance.
