KAWA ADA IS WINNER OF 2008 STAGE WEST EMERGING THEATRE ARTIST AWARD
------------------------------------------

Equity's Honours Committee has chosen member Kawa Ada as the winner of
the 2008 Stage West - Equity Emerging Theatre Artist Award. 

The Award, and its $2,000 cash prize, was initiated in celebration of
Equity's silver anniversary in 2001. It is sponsored by Stage West
Theatre Restaurants, and recognizes an Equity member of three years or
less who has made a significant contribution and impression as an
artist. Andrew is a multi-talented performer, already notable in the
theatre scene across Canada.

Howard Pechat, Executive Director of Stage West stated "The intention of
creating the award was to acknowledge outstanding young artists in the
arts and to help these exceptional young performers to further their
career. This year's recipient, XX XX is one of those outstanding
individual."

Kawa Ada is already notable for his involvement in the theatre scene
across Canada, most recently at the Shaw Festival and Canadian Stage.
