The Woman in Black - drama thriller by Stephen Mallatratt Contract
period: August 3 - 22, 2009

a) Role of "Arthur Kipps": male, mid forties to mid fifties, a British
solicitor based in London
b) Role of  "A Professional Actor":  male, early to mid- thirties RP is
an absolute necessity for both actors. Arthur Kipps, the middle aged
solicitor, should be conversant and comfortable with at least one
Midlands dialect as this performer plays a number of different roles
through the play.

Audition Requirements:  Please prepare two contrasting modern
monologues. A reading may be requested.

"The Woman in Black" is a true ghost story and its terror is derived
from the capacity of the two actors to bring full commitment to each
scene as they shift seamlessly from one to the next. This is not a
satire nor is it humorous in any way. This is a tour-de-force for two
excellent actors looking for a unique challenge.

Equity members will be seen first at all open audition calls. Equity
members cast in this production will be engaged under an Equity form of
contract. CAEA members: please bring your membership card to the
audition.
