WESTERN OFFICE STAFFING ANNOUNCEMENT
-------------------------
Friday, March 13, 2009

Executive Director Arden R. Ryshpan is delighted to announce the
appointment of Jennifer Riedle to the position of Business
Representative in the Western Office. Jennifer joins
Equity after having been a Business Representative for the Toronto
Musicians' Association, Local 149 of the American Federation of
Musicians. Prior to her work with the TMA, Jennifer spent a number of
years in theatre management with Mirvish Productions and Opera Atelier.
In 1997 she joined Equity as a Stage Manager.

Jennifer's unique background as a labour representative and as an
administrator with extensive knowledge of Equity's jurisdiction makes
her a superb fit with the Association.

After having lived in Toronto for many years, Jennifer is looking
forward to joining family members on the west coast.

Jennifer begins working with Equity on March 23. Training will begin in
Equity's National Office, and Jennifer will take up residence in
Vancouver and relocate to the Western Office mid-April.

Throughout the training and transition periods Business Representative
Leigh Kerr and Senior Business Representative Ken Burns will continue to
deliver service to the western
region both on site and from the National Office.

In related staffing news, Mario Montera joined Equity's staff on
Wednesday, February 25th as Administrative Assistant in the Western
Office. Mario came to the Association with experience working at a
number of charitable organizations including Canuck Place Children's
Hospice, BC Cancer Foundation and the BC SPCA.

Welcome Jennifer and Mario.
