Ethno-cultural mandate or ethno-cultural casting statement:
The characters that we are looking to cast are First Nations. 
We invite resumes from artists of diverse cultures and ethnicities.

Additional information:
Call for Submissions for an upcoming Workshop of a new piece of musical
theatre by Corey Payette.  This is a folk-rock musical about a family
coming to terms with the after-effects of the residential school system
on their lives.

The Workshop will be directed by Allison Grant. 

WORKSHOP DATES:         October  25 - 30, 2011 
Public reading on October 30

Those invited to audition will be asked to come with sheet music and
sing with an accompanist.  Please prepare a folk-rock song of your
choice and be prepared to read from the script. 

We are auditioning for these roles:

JULIA -Lead.   Able to play a teenaged girl.

TOM - at 13 and 33 years old.  Looking for submissions from actors who
can play both a teenager and an adult.  Lead.

RITA - 50 years old.  Tommy and Julia's mother. Lead.

WILSON SEKORA - at 16 and 36 years old.  Looking for submissions from
actors who can play both a teenager and an adult. Lead

Reading copies of the script are available at #301, 601 Cambie Street
from 9-5 Monday-Friday.

Equity members will be seen first at all open audition calls. Equity
members cast in this production will be engaged under an Equity form of
contract. CAEA members: please bring your membership card to the
audition.
