BLOOD TIES
Book, music and lyrics by Anika Johnson and Barbara Johnston

Blood Ties is a darkly comic chamber musical in one act. On the eve of
her wedding, Sheila is assigned the task of cleaning up after her
uncle's suicide. She and her three childhood friends spend the day
mopping up blood and brains - but when one mess is cleaned up, a much
greater one is revealed.

SHEILA:
20's - 30's
soprano/mezzo
Our heroine. Naive, driven, conflicted, about to be married.

LARRY:
20's-30's
Tenor/baritone
Flamboyant, warm, and neurotic, with strong comic timing.

PAUL:
20's-30's
Tenor/baritone
Serious, handsome, a med student, and hopelessly in love in with Franny.

FRANNY:
20's-30's
Mezzo
Sheila's best friend. Blunt, funny and sexy.

CONRAD (the ghost):
40's-50's
Baritone
Charismatic, persuasive, wealthy. A 'silver fox'.

Note: The music is classic musical theatre with a retro pop sensibility.
Applicants must be available for rehearsals during the week of August
1st and a performance on August 14.

Equity members will be seen first at all open audition calls. Equity
members cast in this production will be engaged under an Equity form of
contract. CAEA members: please bring your membership card to the
