What a Young Wife Ought to Know
by Hannah Moscovitch

Characters:
SOPHIE - Working class mother in 1920s upper Canada. 30-something. But
she probably looks older, after several very rough pregnancies. In some
scenes, we flash back to 16 year-old Sophie.

ALMA - 18 or 19 years old. Fiery, attractive. Also born to a working
class family. Living in the gutter, but looking at the stars.

JOHNNY - 30-something. Handsome and strong. But with a boyish charm.
Johnny has a working class Irish dialect. Hard, not lilting. He's only
been living in Canada a few years.

A Kind of Reminiscence (working title)
by Michael MacKenzie

Characters:
MINNA BERNAY - A woman in her early forties. Intelligent. Must be able
to speak English with a German (or Austrian) accent.
SIGMUND FREUD - Around 50. Must be able to speak English with a German
(or Austrian) accent.
NORA BARNACLE - Early to mid twenties. Pregnant. Intelligent, wry sense
of humour. Irish dialect.
JAMES JOYCE - Mid twenties. Devastatingly intelligent. Irish dialect.

members cast in this production will be engaged under an Equity form of
contract. CAEA members: please bring your membership card to the
