Theatre In the Raw is an inclusive organization and encourages people
from diverse backgrounds to audition. This performance in particular
reflects the cultural diversity of Vancouver itself.

Additional information:

Theatre In the Raw (TITR) is looking for 3 females/1 male Equity
singers, actors and dancers for original two-act musical The Raymur
Mothers by Bob Sarti, music by Bill Sample, directed by Jay Hamburger.
The Raymur Mothers is an iconic story, full of colourful characters
(real and imagined), drama, action, romance, passions, ideals, humor,
dance and 13 rousing songs. The exploits of the notable real-life
"militant mothers of Raymur" from the Raymur Place Housing Project have
already become part of Vancouver's 1970's folklore. The legacy of young
apprehensive mothers in the Downtown Eastside (DTES) has yet to be given
the serious and comprehensive attention that it deserves.

This will be the third original mainstage musical produced by TITR from
the Untold Stories of Vancouver series. Age ranges of characters in the
play are 18 to 40. Rehearsals start in mid-late September '14 for 10
performances at The Russian Hall from October 29th to November 9th
(dress rehearsal October 28th). Please call Jay Hamburger - artistic
director (604) 708-5477 and/or (604) 708-5448 for appointment only is
stressed. Bring a song, with sheet music and a short 2-3 minute
monologue.

Equity members will be seen first at all open audition calls. Equity
members cast in this production will be engaged under an Equity form of
contract. CAEA members: please bring your membership card to the
audition.
