At least 1 song should be a traditional musical theatre piece - i.e. Gershwin, Cole Porter, Coward, Rodgers and Hart, Rodgers and Hammerstein, Lerner and Lowe, etc. The second song need not be traditional musical theatre - it need not even be a musical theatre song - it should be a piece that shows your strengths and your vocal range. Please note: we may only hear one song.

Non-Equity Musical:
There may be two auditions. The first audition is 1 song performed for Music Director Paul Sportelli.
Callbacks will be scheduled, as necessary, where 1 monologue (it is strongly suggested that the monologue be from the Shaw Festival's mandate period) PLUS 1 musical theatre song that shows your strengths and vocal range will be performed.

An Accompanist will be provided for musical auditions. Please bring your music in the key that you will be singing in. The accompanist will not be able to transpose it for you.

Applicants selected for an audition will be contacted to schedule an appointment. WE WILL NOT CONTACT ANYONE WHO HAS NOT BEEN SELECTED FOR AN APPOINTMENT. Please be advised that due to an overwhelming number of applications each year, we seldom see any artist two years in a row.
