Ethno-cultural mandate or ethno-cultural casting statement:
We are happy to receive submissions from actors of any ethnicity, culture,
etc.

Additional information:
Actors must be skilled with language, wit and wordplay. Experience with and
talent for Coward’s style of comedy:  timing, sharp one-liners, turns of
phrase, wit, dry delivery, etc. Experience with comedies of manners (Coward,
Shaw, Wilde, etc.) beneficial.

All roles below are gender-flipped. Meaning, looking for MALE ACTORS to play
female roles, and FEMALE ACTORS to play male roles.

Elyot Chase

Witty and cynical; wealthy and fashionable, accustomed to luxury,
self-indulgent; flippant, mocking.

Age:  30ish (open to casting older). Play piano beneficial.
Casting FEMALE ACTOR for this role.

Amanda Prynne

Witty and cynical; glamorous, exquisitely mannered, sophisticated; flippant,
liberal.

Age:  30sih (open to casting older)
Casting MALE ACTOR for this role.

Sybil Chase

Elyot’s attractive, 23-year old new bride. Conventional, unimaginative and
innocent; naive, trusting, romantic, optimistic.

Age:  23 (open to casting older).

Casting MALE ACTOR in this role.

Victor Prynne
Handsome, stuffy, stodgy, humourless. Conventional, uptight. chivalrous and
honourable.

Age:  35ish (open to casting older).

Casting FEMALE ACTOR in this role.

Equity members will be seen first at all open audition calls. Equity members
cast in this production will be engaged under an Equity form of contract.
