EQUITY COUNCIL ELECTS NEW FIRST VICE PRESIDENT FOR THE 2015-2018 TERM
--------------------
At its June 26 meeting of Equity's national Council elected Stephen
Erickson, a Councillor for the Eastern Opera region, as First Vice-President.

The First Vice-President serves as coordinator for Council's advisory
committees, and as the chair of the Council Education and Renewal Committee.

Stephen's email contact information may be found at: http://bit.ly/1N2GSHC
or by phone/mail to the National Office (see below).

Stephen has been a proud Equity member since receiving his first contract with the Canadian Opera Company in 2003.  Serving on the negotiating team for the 2013-2016 Canadian Opera Agreement piqued his already keen interest in advocacy and labour relations so he ran for Council and was elected as one of the Eastern Opera Councillors. Stephen looks forward to adding his experience from his other life as a crown employee with over a decade to draw on, adding his voice as First Vice President.

Any suggestions, concerns or questions will be warmly welcomed at vicepresident1 at caea.com.

Katey Wright, Councillor for British Columbia and the Yukon, resigned from
the First Vice-President role in April 2016 due to unanticipated scheduling
issues.

Equity's Council is comprised of 22 Councillors from 13 regions across
Canada, and meets 10 times per year to handle governance of the Association
on behalf of its members.
