EQUITY BYLAW UPDATES - NOVEMBER 2017

Equity's Council encourages all members to be familiar with the rules that
govern membership in our Association. Electronic copies of the current
bylaws are always posted for review or download in the "Document Library"
section of EQUITYONLINE, and are available in print format upon request to
the Association.

In the period April to September 2017 Council amended a number of Equity’s
bylaws pertaining to the way in which the Association addresses Standards
of Conduct and the Disciplinary Process. The changes update existing
terminology and introduce language clarifying complaint processes. In
addition, a wider range of option and remedies, including restorative
process alternatives, will now be available to Hearing Committees assigned
to respond to workplace complaints.

Articles amended include 35, 39.1 (new), 39.2 (new), 46, 46.1 (new), 50,
57, 60, 61.1, 61.2 through 61.6 (new), 62 (repealed), 64, 65.1 (new), 69,
78 and 80 (repealed). Some current bylaw articles (to September 2017) have
been renumbered.
