Now, we invite you to become an essential part of this journey as our Engagement Coordinator.

You'll be at the epicenter of our efforts, planning, and coordinating public events and engagement initiatives that bring our mission to life in New Brunswick communities. You'll collaborate with a range of teams, supporting tasks like event planning, volunteer management, grant writing, and community outreach. This position calls for someone who's prepared to champion the Nature Trust’s work, energize our volunteer base, and build meaningful relationships with partners.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Project Management 
• Be the lead in organizing outreach events and volunteer programs such as the Annual Great Fundy Coastal Cleanup, Passport to Nature, and the Ambassador Program;
• Work closely with all departments to ensure the successful delivery of their outreach and engagement efforts and funding deliverables;
• Research and draft funding proposals for engagement-related projects, often tied to stewardship or conservation;
• Connect and work with different partners on public event deliverables, meetings, and processes (project partners, provincial and federal government, scientific experts, public, board, and other staff);
• Work closely with Engagement Manager and other staff on high-profile projects and events including member appreciation events, Lieutenant-Governor’s Award for Excellence in Land Conservation, Annual General Meeting, Nature Preserve grand openings, and donor appreciation events;
• Utilize Salesforce to track members, supporters, partners, campaigns, events, volunteers, funding deliverables etc.;

Public Engagement
• Plan and deliver Nature Trust outreach and engagement efforts including public events, presentations, workshops, webinars, etc;
• Adopt effective engagement organizing techniques for member recruitment, retention, and mobilization;
• Research potential partnerships and engagement opportunities that align with the mission and vision of the Nature Trust;
• Provide support to all departments in their outreach and engagement efforts;
• Participate in stewardship outings, workdays, and events (sometimes overnight) as required;
• Provide support to communications department by creating content for website, e-news, and print publications;
• Represent the Nature Trust at partner and networking events;
• Represent or find volunteer representatives to promote the Nature Trust at events such as markets, fairs, trade shows, presentations as required;
• Assist Engagement Manager with fundraising campaigns and donor relations as required;

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE
• Post-secondary education in a relevant field (Non-Profit Engagement, Leadership, Marketing & Communications, Conservation, Natural Resources, Forestry, Fundraising, Environmental Studies, Business) or work-related experience is required;
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
• Excellent organizational and time management skills with ability to prioritize multiple requests;
• Excellent problem-solving skills, self-sufficient, and solution-oriented;
• Self directed learner, takes initiative to find solutions;
• Experience in CRM management and/or Salesforce an asset;
• Experience in engagement organizing, fundraising and/or fund development an asset;
• Experience with MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint;
• Team player who works well with others and has the ability to develop and maintain positive relationships;
• Experience with public speaking, and group facilitation;
• Experience working in leadership positions and/or managing projects;
• Experience working with multiple stakeholders;
• Independent, creative, and self-motivated;
• Strong interest in the environmental conservation field;
• Valid Driver’s license and insurance and willingness to use their vehicle;
• Experience working with a land trust or non-for -profit organization is an asset;
• Bilingualism is an asset.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The Nature Trust offers an inclusive workplace, in which all staff are treated equally and with respect, and a vibrant work culture defined by a shared vision of a healthy future for both the lands and people of New Brunswick. The Engagement Coordinator can expect a fast-paced work environment with the need to manage several projects at once. The work is hybrid, with visits to partners and nature preserves periodically as required for relationship building throughout the year. It is required that you have high speed internet and are available online if working from home. The Engagement Coordinator must be willing to travel and work flexible hours, weekends and evenings if needed. A good level of physical fitness is required at times because field days are long and can be strenuous, with all weather conditions.
