PanCanadian WordFest is seeking a MARKETING ASSISTANT INTERN

Now preparing for its 7th Annual Festival scheduled for October 16 - 20,
2002, PanCanadian WordFest: Banff-Calgary International Writers Festival is
hiring for a 12 month Marketing Assistant Intern position to start in April
2002 (subject to funding). PanCanadian WordFest is Alberta’s hottest
literary event and the third largest Festival of its kind in Canada. More
than fifty writers from Alberta, Canada, and around the world are featured
in readings, panel discussions, and other literary-related events in
Calgary, Banff and the Bow Valley corridor. See our website at

Duties:
… assisting with marketing strategies and campaign including media
relations, promotions and other marketing and public relations activities
for the Festival and throughout the year
… expanding emarketing efforts
… designing updates for the web-site
… assisting with a possible web-casting event (tba)
… database management

Qualifications:
… As a youth internship project, must be under 31 years of age to apply.
… University or college graduate in General Arts, any Arts specialty,
Communications, English, or similar program.
… Experience in the arts sector as a participant, organizer, or volunteer
with community groups, university or college groups, and/or professional
organizations.
… Computer literate: good working knowledge of word processing, email and
internet required; knowledge of spreadsheets, databases, web design, html
documentation an asset.
… Good oral and advanced written communications skills in English.
… Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
… A team player.

This is a 12 month internship at a salary of $1,500 per month. Position
begins April 2002 and ends March 2003 (subject to funding).
