Northern Light Theatre
Artistic Director

Northern Light Theatre is seeking a fresh, innovative and exciting
person to fill the position of Artistic Director.  The successful
candidate will work in conjunction with the General Manager to run
the company and will be responsible for planning, directing and running
the artistic aspects of the company.

Northern Light Theatre has been a vital part of the Edmonton theatre
scene for 27 years, producing two main stage shows, a reading series
and The Carnival of Souls (a festival based on the horror genre), each
season.  The annual budget is approximately $250 000 and there are 3
full time employees including the Artistic Director.

The Northern Light Theatre mandate is;  "To challenge both artist and
audience by producing and developing provocative scripts texts that are
dark, poetic, funny lead us to question our hierarchy of values."

Interested applicants should send a resume, salary expectations and a
brief description of what they think the Edmonton Theatre community
needs, and the type of season they would produce if successful.
Applicants selected for an interview will be asked to submit a
detailed season proposal including budgets and examples of specific
shows.

The position will begin in May/June of 2002.
