Maya - South Asian Theatre Company

The exciting, latest addition to Toronto's vibrant theatre community, is
seeking submissions from artists of South Asian heritage.  We will be
accepting pieces between 5-10 min in length for the upcoming
"performance art/spoken word" showcase to be presented at the renowned
"Harbourfront Centre", as part of the annual "Masala, Mehndi, Masti
Festival" (Aug. 16-18/2002).  This festival is the largest of its kind
in North America.

Submissions should include a brief synopsis of the proposed piece, and
if possible, the text, a brief history of its performance and a bio.
The latter two for promotional purposes.

New, unproduced pieces are welcome and need not be limited to issues
pertaining to South Asian culture.  The objective is to provide a
platform for established and emerging artists of South Asian origin.
