The Department of English at Acadia University invites applications for
a tenure track position in Theatre Studies (Position # 10406) beginning
on 1 July 2003. Theatre Studies at Acadia has a long and distinguished
history. The Theatre Studies faculty delivers the Theatre program under
the aegis of the English department. The candidate must be grounded in
both practical and academic aspects of theatre. The appointee must be
able to direct productions, and to teach the Program's core courses in
acting and ensemble work. The candidate will also be required to teach
Theatre History, Dramatic Theory and Criticism, and one of the
following: Modern Drama, Canadian Drama, Playwriting, Drama in
Education, and Children's Theatre. The appointee should have a Ph. D. or
equivalent experience.
