Esau Mercer carries home to Newfoundland a terrible secret from the
Great War. Six years later, his son Jacob needs to know it. Esau refuses
to talk. The agitation Esau feels, Jacob cannot understand. But through
all of his poking and prodding he is about to uncover a sore that has
been festering far too long. Maybe things are better left unsaid.
