A Small Battalion of Soldiers is Sandra Battaglini's new comedy at the
Tim Sims Playhouse. This one-person show employs theatre, dance, clown,
video and interactive performance art to traverse history from her
Italian-Canadian family mythology to her contemporary distorted notions
of society. 
Battaglini's brand of humour was showcased at the invite-only Funny
Women Fest in New York City (October 2002) and the Single File Festival
in Chicago (March 2003). Her work also includes documentary-based
research on women who worked at International Nickel Company (INCO) of
Sudbury during World War II entitled "Don't Go Down the Mine Mamma!" 

A Small Battalion of Soldiers is directed by Mark Andrada. Andrada is a
writer/performer and was nominated for a Dora Award in 2003 (Best TYA
Production) and two Canadian Comedy Awards in 2000 (Best Male Stage
Performance, Best New Sketch Troupe). 

Created by Sandra Battaglini and Mark Andrada. Choreographed by Mark
Andrada. Video by Christine Latimer, an award winning internationally
recognized film and video installation artist. (Best International Short
Film at the Bare Bones International Film Festival, Oklahoma, 2003)
