ARE YOU A FUNNY WRITER?

"C" is for Comedy presents the Sketch In Time - Comedy Sketch Writing
contest. 
Contest deadline June 21st, 2004

Every year Sketch In Time is presented at The Arts Club Theatre as a
comedy cabaret fundraiser for the ALS Society of BC (Lou Gehrig's
Disease). Voluntarily produced and directed by David C. Jones, this sell
out show features the brightest and funniest sketch comedy performers,
past present and future.

Past artists including; Gut Wrench, Double Exposure, CBC's The Eleventh
Hour and Western Alienation Comedy Hour, 30 Helen's, Dr. Boundolo's
Pandemonium Medicine Show, Denis Simpson, and Roman Danylo.

If you want to showcase your sketch comedy writing your submission must
be /have;
* done in 12 point Arial or Times New Roman font
* double spaced
* pages must be numbered
* your name and the title on each page
* " t.v. friendly "
* sketch can't be over 5 minutes in length and cast size should be 5 or
under
* "low tech" (no crashing chandeliers or motorcycles)
* include a $5 processing fee (cheques only made out to The ALS Society
of BC)

The top 15 sketches will be read by a panel of industry judges made up
of;
MORGAN BRAYTON - Executive Artistic Director Pink Vixen Comedy Arts
Society
KATRINA DUNN - Artistic Director of Touchstone Theatre
AL GURALIUK - President of Total Entertainment Network 
ELLIE HARVIE  - award winning actress
KEN HEGAN - writer / producer
DREW MCCREADIE - Jessie Award Winning writer/performer 
PETER NEW - writer/ performer 
JAY ONO - executive director Vancouver TheatreSports League
MICHAEL ROBINSON - Leo Award wing television director
RICHARD SIDE - CBC TV producer

They will pick the top five sketches, which will then be produced and
presented at SKETCH IN TIME 7 - SHINY SHINY HAPPY FUN TIME SHOW on
September 19th using the cities top comedy directors and actors. (to be
announced shortly). The audience will vote for the funniest sketch that
night and the writer will win valuable prizes and bragging rights.

All entries will also be listed on the Sketch In Time web-site and the
finalists will be profiled on the site as well as in the Shiny Shiny
Happy Fun Time Show program.
