The Betty Mitchell Awards
Celebrating Calgary's Professional Theatre
2004 Nomination Announcement
Nominations for the 2004 Betty Mitchell Awards will be announced at the
Auburn Saloon (115 9th Ave SE ) on Tuesday, July 6, 2004 at 4:30pm by
2003 Betty Mitchell Award winners Valerie Planche and Trevor Leigh.

Planche and Leigh, both recipients of the 2003 Betty Mitchell Awards for
Outstanding Performance in a Supporting Role, Actress and Actor
respectively, will announce the nominees in 15 categories celebrating
excellence in theatrical direction, performance, design, musical
direction, choreography/fight direction, and production.  

Now in their seventh year, The Betty Mitchell Awards are an important
part of Calgary's Theatre community.  These awards not only recognize
the continued level of excellence in our theatres but also raise the
profile of live performance in our city and encourage audience growth.

Members of the Calgary theatre community, friends, patrons, and the
media are all invited to attend the Nomination Announcement.

The 2004 Betty Mitchell Awards will be held on Monday, August 30, 2004
at Stage West, 727 - 42 Ave SE.  Tickets go on sale Wednesday, July 7,
2004 at 10:00 am at the Stage West Box Office. Order tickets by phone
with a credit card at 243-6642 or in person at Stage West. Tickets are
$40.00 and include a buffet dinner, the Betty Mitchell Awards Show, and
entrance to the Official Bettys After Party (Location TBA).  Cocktails
are at 5:00 pm. Doors open for dinner at 5:30 pm. The Betty Mitchell
Awards Show starts at 7:30 pm.
