1. SPRING VOICE WARM-UP - TORONTO
2. THE PHYSICAL ACTOR SPEAKS - TORONTO
3. MASTER CLASS WITH DENISE CLARKE - MONTREAL

1. SPRING VOICE WARM-UP - TORONTO
--------------------------------------------------
 with Sarah Weatherwax

WAKE UP AND WARM UP YOUR VOICE AND BODY after a long, cold winter!

Free your voice as you relax and energize your body. Learn the full
progression of Linklater voice exercises to warm-up before working -
also a very practical, concrete way to keep your instrument tuned up and
ready to go between jobs. Learn from the other students in this group
setting and receive individual attention as needed. Time will be
allotted for coaching on songs and monologues. This class is for
professional actors & singers only. However, people of all levels of
experience with voice training welcome to apply.

Each human body is a unique creation, therefore each body houses a
unique voice. Finding your natural voice by eliminating habitual
muscular tension in your body is the beginning to becoming a more
refined, expressive, transformational actor and/or singer. Let go of
some old habits and a world of possibilities will be revealed. Shed some
of your physical tension so the character's body can live through you
more easily. Unblock your voice and your emotions will be unblocked.
Clear thinking will lead to clear articulation and clearer
communication.

With freedom comes choice.

2. THE PHYSICAL ACTOR SPEAKS - TORONTO
--------------------------------------------------------
(An examination of the meeting place between butoh-inspired physical
exploration and text work)

Monday April 19 to Sunday April 25, 2004
An intense workshop, five hours per day, seven days.

Instructors:
Denise Fujiwara, Butoh
Voice Instructor TBA
Jeannette Lambermont, Text
Ellen-Ray Hennessy, Text

This workshop proposes an intense exploration of deep inner-actor
reserves in physical, emotional and vocal terms.

The dark soul of butoh work is an actor's prime territory. A butoh
performer uses a combination of the mind and the emotions in a way that
is recognizable to an actor. This physical exploration is intimately
connected with the soul of the artist. This workshop hopes to expand
this journey to include the voice: through sound and text.

Class size limited to a MAXIMUM of 24 students.
Cost = $240.00 for Equity members, $290.00 for Non-equity. Location to
be announced.

Please send your resume and cheque (made out to DDT Inc) to:
