JOB POSTING - FESTIVAL OF CLASSICS - OAKVILLE

ASSOCIATE PRODUCER
This Canadian organization based in Oakville, Ontario was established in
1995 and presented its first production, A Midsummer Night's Dream in
1996 in Coronation Park. Since that time, Festival of Classics has
produced a single production each summer starting in mid-July and
running until mid-August and has emerged as one of the most important
summer Shakespeare festivals in Ontario.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
As Associate Producer for Festival of Classics you will report to the
Managing Producer, and work closely with Front of House Manager, and
volunteers for the summer 2004 season. As this is our first season with
multiple productions your expertise in numerous fields will constantly
be challenged as we search for creative and cost-effective ways to meet
the demands of both productions.
Primary Tasks include:
-general office administration
-assist in implementing the 2004 Marketing plan
-assist Volunteer Manager to coordinate and schedule volunteers -assist
in planning and hosting numerous events (ie opening night) -assist in
planning and carrying out various fundraising efforts -assist in
managing the theatre sites and office throughout the summer season
APPLICANTS
All applicants must have practical experience working in arts
administration. Excellent written and oral communication, time
management and organizational skills are a must. Applicants should be
proficient in most office administration software, knowledge of web
editing and basic graphic software is a plus. A knowledge of and a
passion for theatre is always a plus - it's what we do.
