CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS - VANCOUVER

The Norman Rothstein Theatre of the Jewish Community Centre of Greater
Vancouver is accepting proposals for the 5th Annual Chutzpah! The Lisa
Nemetz Showcase of Jewish Performing Arts. The festival is a
multi-disciplinary performing arts event featuring Jewish performing
artists and/or work with Judaic content. 

We are requesting submissions from a wide range of disciplines including
theatre, dance, music, stand-up comedy and storytelling, as well as
theatre for young audiences, cabaret, works in progress, workshops,
readings, lectures etc. All events will be presented in the Norman
Rothstein Theatre or the Jewish Community Centre which houses dance
studios, a parking lot, swimming pool, atrium, art gallery, gymnasium
and studio space in the Wosk Auditorium. Chutzpah! Will take place
between February 26th and March 6th, 2005 YOUR PROPOSAL SHOULD INCLUDE
THE FOLLOWING:

1. Project Description
Please describe your project in detail including: theme, content,
running time and the number of performers involved. Please indicate
whether your project is in development and/or at the stage of
completion. Please describe any ancillary activities connected to your
project that may contribute to audience development.

2. Support Materials  (Websites can be referenced but hard copies are
also required). Please include artists' resumes, reviews of your
proposal project or other work (if applicable), CD's, VHS tape of your
performance - past or present - as well as any other support materials
relevant to your proposal. A recording of your work on a VHS tape/DVD is
extremely useful for the selection process. 

3. Finances
Your proposal should include information about how you will be financing
the creation/production of your work (if it is a new piece), what kind
of publicity and marketing you will be doing to promote your own show
prior to and during. Please include what amount you are asking for a
presenter's fee.

Deadline for applications is June 30th, 2004 at 4:00 P.M. Please submit
