1. HELL HATH NO FURY - VANCOUVER
-------------------------------------------------
The Shakespeare Centre presents
HELL HATH NO FURY
Radical Women in Shakespeare

This four day intensive with director Katrina Dunn will focus on four of
Shakespeare's most powerful female advocates and rebels. The
exploration of these characters will open the participant to the
structure of argument in Shakespeare's language, and use action to find
immediacy and range. These are the four women we'll explore:

Isabella from MEASURE FOR MEASURE
Portia from THE MERCHANT OF VENICE
Queen Katherine from KING HENRY THE EIGHTH
Paulina from THE WINTERS TALE

Each participant will tackle a monologue and a short scene as part of
the workshop, chosen from these four characters. Text work will focus
on techniques to highlight the power of argument, and physical work will
set ideas in motion. Limited to 12 participants to maximize student
teacher interaction.
*	Stretch your limits as an actor
*	Brush up on Shakespeare
*	Learn new skills
*	Add to your repertoire
*	Draw inspiration from some rarely seen female characters
PLEASE NOTE: This workshop is open to men as well as women, who will
work on scenes with the above female characters as well as a monologue
from the chosen plays. There will also be space for twelve auditors who
may observe the workshop.
