AUDITION NOTICE for CAROUSEL PLAYERS
CAROUSEL PLAYERS will be holding Auditions for their 2005/06 season on
Tuesday, June 14th and Wednesday, June between 10am and 6pm in TORONTO,
and on Thursday, June 16th in St. Catharines Artistic Director, Kim
Selody is casting for our 2005/06 season. Carousel Players, is based in
St. Catharines, but all our productions tour extensively. We are a full
equity company that does both national and international touring.
Casting requirements for this season are:
JELLY BELLY MAKES GARBAGE DELIGHT OF ALLIGATOR PIE: the poems of Dennis
Lee recycled by Kim Selody Tour to Winnipeg, Calgary and Ontario
Rehearsals begin in St. Catharines on Oct 17th, 2005. Tours to Winnipeg,
and Calgary with a break for Christmas, then continues to tour in 2006
in Ontario until May 2006. Casting requirements:
2 Female; 1 male
Special Skills: Singing, movement, improv, plays games and works well
with young children. Focus on ethnic diversity in casting.
WIMP by Soren Skjold
Tours studio theatres and schools in Ontario. February to May 2006
Casting requirements:
2 male; 1 female
Special Skills: Physically in shape, female role is a boxer, Focus on
ethnic diversity in casting .
SILVERWING adapted by Kim Selody, from the book by Kenneth Oppel Kim is
casting for two separate productions of this play. The first is a staged
concert version in collaboration with the Niagara Symphony Orchestra -
Rehearsals begin October 3rd with 3 performances on October 14th and
15th in St. Catharines. The Second is a full production in Winnipeg
with MTYP; rehearsals begin November 14th, opens December 8th runs to
December 26th. Casting Requirements 4 female (ages ranging from early
20's to 60's) 3 male (ages ranging form early 20's to early 50's)
Special Skills: This is an ensemble piece with actors playing multiple
roles. Actors move well, there will be a focus on ethnic diversity in
the ensemble
Audition Requirements:
1 Contemporary piece, no longer than 3 minutes. Be prepared to
improvise and play. Please bring photo and resume. Audition times can

21.
Equity members will be seen first at all open audition calls. Equity
members cast in this production will be engaged under an Equity form of
contract. CAEA members: please bring your membership card to the
audition.
