International Directors Masterclass
Administrative Coordinator
Position: Part-Time Contract from July 15, 2006 to July 15, 2007
Job Region: Toronto, Ontario
Application Deadline: June 30, 2006
The International Directors Masterclass will be held in June 2007 in
Ottawa during the Magnetic North Festival. The masterclass is an
initiative of the Masterclass Subcommittee of the CAEA's Directors and
Choreographers
Committee.
The International Directors Masterclass is seeking an Administrative
Coordinator to assist in administering and implementing the masterclass.
Reporting to the Chair of the Masterclass Subcommittee and working along
side the Production Manager, the Administrative Coordinator would be
responsible for the following:
- create a critical path for the masterclass in consultation with the
D/C Masterclass Sub-Committee (D/C MSC)
- follow up on availability from the list of international directors as
agreed upon by the D/C MSC
- act as liaison to all master directors on an ongoing basis
- administer and distribute the application process for participants, in
consultation with the Chair of the D/C MSC
- liaise with panel of regional representatives (as chosen by the D/C
MSC) who will choose participants
- research and implement fundraising opportunities for the masterclass
- attain and coordinate all lodging, travel, hotels details for master
directors and participants
- liaise with CAEA regarding participant application process,
contracting of master directors, financial management of masterclass,
etc.
- liaise with University of Ottawa regarding venue, lodging, volunteers,
etc.
- liaise with Magnetic North regarding marketing and publicity,
logistics, etc.
- coordinate all masterclass volunteers
- attendance at the masterclass, acting as a guide to master directors
while in Ottawa
- coordinate all correspondence with master directors, participants and
others involved in the masterclass on an ongoing basis
- liaison with the Production Manager as required.
- any other duties as required.
Essential Criteria
- A degree or diploma in Arts Administration or the equivalent of three
years relevant work experience in a performing arts environment would be
beneficial
- Strong or advanced knowledge of theatre practice and/or theatre
education would be a definite asset
- Proven experience in administrative, coordination and fund-raising
skills
- Access to a home office
- Strong computer skills: Word, Excel, dBase programs
- Excellent interpersonal communication and problem solving skills
- Superior written communication skills and demonstrated ability to
oversee and revise written work
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a constantly
evolving environment
Salary: $3,300 for the contract, flexible hours as needed.
