Let's just say Shakespeare was smarter than you. And let's say the first
thing we have to do when we look at his text, at any text, is to find
the information that is given us. Not interpretation. Not choices. Not
yet. First let's see what the man put on the page.

Both Sides Now is a fun, accessible, and highly practical look at the
work you can do with text before you make any acting decisions. It is a
great way to mine what is actually there to base decisions on.

Join Fight Directors Canada certified fight instructor Kevin Robinson
and certified fight director Todd Campbell for this exciting stage
combat workshop.

June 24th and June 25th
10am-6pm

$100/day or $150/both days for Equity/Actra/FDC
$120/day or $180/both days for non-members.

Day 1:Pilipino stick and knife fighting techniques, followed by
theatrical unarmed combat techniques. 

Day 2: Italian Rapier of the 16th century.

Method Acting with Jane Moffat 
The class will focus on Relaxation Technique, Sense Memory Exercises and
Scene Study.  It is suitable for professional actors at all stages in
their development, as the work will be geared towards individual needs.

Chekhov's Characters with Russian Director, Vladimir Bouchler

Equity Showcase Theatre is very pleased to welcome Director, Vladimir
Bouchler, who is currently in Canada and the U. S. in preparation for
his feature film project.  This exciting workshop will explore the
practical elements of Stanislavsky's system, and the principles of
training according to Vakhtangov. The workshop will engage the actor in
tasks designed to re-awaken imagination and fantasy. This will be an
exploration of the actor's transformation and creation of image and
character. A variety of exercises and improvisations will be used to
develop manner of game and to achieve deeper inner recognition of their
characters' development.
