THEATRE SCHOOL AND COMMUNITY PROGRAMS DIRECTOR
 
Reporting to the General Manager and Artistic Director, the Theatre
School
and Community Programs Director is a member of the Senior Management
Team
and is a full time position. The PTE Theatre School was founded in 1972
and
continues to play a vital and important role within our community.
 
The Theatre School and Community Programs Director is directly
responsible
for artistic and administrative management of the PTE Theatre School,
which
offers classes and performance companies for children, teens and adults
(current annual enrolment, 750 students in house).  The Theatre School
also
manages an extensive community program which includes workshops for
schools,
drama courses for the University of Winnipeg Collegiate, alternative
learning programs and a mentorship program for young emerging
playwrights.
The School is also a Teaching Centre for the University of Manitoba.
The
Theatre School and Community Programs Director is expected to teach
within
the programs.  
 
Expertise or experience in working in the professional theatre,
knowledge of
other arts disciplines, strong communication and writing skills, and
working
with diverse cultures and various age groups are a definite asset.
